How can we discover our purpose and path? Your purpose isn’t found when you rely on yourself for all the answers,...
We are all afraid of something. We all have one of those “greatest fears,” like spiders, snakes, or freezing to death. Then someone says to be fearless. What does that even mean? Do they mean you’re supposed to drop anything that is scary to us and live like there are no worries? Does it mean to just laugh in the face of any danger?
I wear this necklace from Eleváre almost every day. It says “Fearless Faith.” I was walking around this area of Nashville called 12 South, and this little girl asked me what my necklace said. When I told her, she asked me what that meant. It was a simple answer, really. I told her it meant to live in faith without question or fear. I told her to not be afraid and to always trust in Jesus. After getting a sweet smile from the little angel herself, she said that my necklace was pretty, and then she walked away. I wondered if that was a good enough answer. Did she understand any part of that? Did that make sense? Then I thought…was I even following my own advice?
The more I began to read, ponder, and write about what the statement I wear around my neck actually meant to ME, I began to see that I really do believe I am living with “fearless faith.” Sometimes we doubt ourselves and we think that we’re doing something wrong or not really doing anything meaningful at all. I am the worst. I catch myself comparing how I’m living to how others are living. Honestly, these days, it’s impossible not to compare ourselves to others when we are constantly looking at social media. However, I realized the statement of living with fearless faith is much more than just not being afraid. It goes so much deeper than that.
Eleváre is a company founded on the concept of building a bridge between fashion and faith. Elevare is named after a school in Uganda located in the Mashah Village. This school is operated by Christian missionaries that feed, educate, and LOVE children that are in much need of what we consider basic necessities. It was because of the work being done in this village to ELEVATE the beautiful souls they come in contact with that brought meaning and purpose to Eleváre Jewelry.
I thought back on the many adventures I have been able to take, the experiences I’ve gone through, the potential dangers I’ve been in, and the exhilarating memories I’ll always keep close to me. There have been so many times that I could have said no to these opportunities because I thought was too scary, but I chose not to. It wasn’t because I wasn’t afraid. I was terrified. The times that we are scared to give courage a purpose. If we aren’t in fear, why would they say to be brave? In my eyes, fearless isn’t about not having any fear. Fearless means having the bravery to push through those fears.”Fearless Faith.” Let’s take this thought to another level. Bringing Christ into this statement makes it so much more powerful to me. God brought every crazy adventure to me when I least expected it. While I may had been praying for something small, He overwhelmed me with something so far beyond my wildest dreams. He’s proven this concept to me throughout my whole life. I put my trust in Him.
Vulnerable Libs here…I am currently afraid. What is life for me right now? Well, it’s a little crazy at times, and then when it slows down, I freak out because I also don’t know what I truly want in life. What is the next step for me? Where do I go from here? If you were sitting right next to me as I’m writing this, you would see my heart beating out of my chest. I hold on to this necklace to remind myself to take on this fear. Let your fear be fuel to your fire, and follow Him.
‘However, when He, the Spirit of Truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify me, for He will take of what is mine and declare it to you.” John 16:13-14
So, to the sweet little girl wondering what my necklace meant by fearless faith, and to you taking your time to read this, it is impossible to live life without fear. It’s alright to be afraid. It’s how we take on our fears, and who we put in front of our fears that are the key—what allows us to make it past them- to conquer them. Living with fearless faith, to me, is trusting God. Trusting that He will walk with us through our fears and know that He will give us all we need to overcome them.
I’m so thankful you took the time to read this, friends! I hope you enjoyed it! I hope you have a lovely evening and a wonderful week! Let me know if you have any stories you would like to share, or what you thought of this blog in the comments below! I appreciate them all!
